ANNOUNCING VIDEO CONTEST!
Show us what being healthy means to you! Send us your videos describing or demonstrating what health & wellness mean to you. You could tell us why it's important to eat healthy or be physically active - whatever you think it means to be healthy! The winning video will be selected by the Walk Directors. The grand prize winner will win an iPOD and have their photo taken for distribution in PTA newsletters and maybe in our local newspaper!

Contest Guidelines and Rules:Kids Video Contest is a video contest for South Florida students to promote, celebrate, and teach children about staying healthy and physically active. Our goal is to empower children to develop healthy lifestyle habits and a lifelong love of physical activity.
To Enter:
1) Create your video, not to exceed 2 minutes, and upload it to our Kids Video Contest YouTube group page (detailed instructions below). You may enter as many videos as you like.
2) Fill out the Contest Entry Form (click here) and email it to Palm Beach PTA at palmbeachcountypta@yahoo.com.
Criteria: Entries will be judged on:
- Content. How practical or inspirational is the message?
- Creativity. How engaging, amusing, original, or entertaining is the presentation?
- Clarity. How clear and understandable is the instruction or message?
Who is Eligible: The contest is free and open to all students who register for the race. Students of all ages (K - college). Entrants must have parental/guardian permission if under 18.
Deadline for Submissions: Noon EST, Wednesday, January 13th, 2010
Judging: Judging will be conducted by the Walk Directors.
Prizes: Grand Prize Winner will be announced and celebrated at the 5K Walk & Fun Run on January 16th, 2010 at F.A.U. campus. The grand prize winner will win an iPod and recognition through PTA Newsletter and a local paper. The first 10 video entries will receive a prize at the event as well (to be determined).
Uploading to YouTube:
1) Create Your Video: Please respect copyright laws. The Contest Entry Form requires you to check
a waiver box stating that you either own all music, images, and brands that appear in the video or that you have used royalty-free images and music, or paid for them, or otherwise have been given written permission to use them.
2) Create a YouTube Account: If you don't already have an account, creating one is easy. Visit YouTube and sign up.
3) Upload Your Video: Go to Kids Video Contest YouTube group page and click Join the Group. Choose add videos at the top right of the page. Select video(s) from your list to add to this group. They should appear on the left side of the page. Check the box and then click Add to Group then Done. Before submitting your video, please review the terms for submitting content on YouTube (click more under the description at the top of the page).
The Fine Print:
1.) By participating, entrants agree to the Contest Guidelines.
2.) No inappropriate language, actions or behavior. Any videos containing crude, vulgar, suggestive or otherwise inappropriate behavior will not be broadcast.
3) PBCC PTA & Coach Roudy Fights Childhood Obesity acquires the rights to use all submitted videos for promotional purposes, including, but not limited to, such mediums as the Internet, printed or electronic marketing materials, and DVDs for sale. No royalties will be paid to the video creators on proceeds of DVD sales; however, video creators retain their rights to use, distribute, and sell their own videos without restrictions.
